1. It’s an EPIRB for sheep… kind of.
Smart tags are being developed to enable producers to track, monitor and assess the status of their stock in real time. Being able to collect data that is relevant to your enterprise will allow you to make more informed decisions. The technology is designed to be robust, low cost and self-sufficient. The ear tags will utilise internet connection that could be provided by a wireless network. If you are interested in this technology and would like to be notified of developments as they happen, please register your interest by emailing your name and contact details to smarttags@wool.com

3. It’s rained, YES!! Is that a blowfly?
Again neighbours have been hesitant to ask “how much rain did you get?”. The rain that has fallen in Queensland over the last couple of weeks, while patchy, has included significant totals. The areas that have received rain are now on the look out for fly struck sheep.
A wide variety of information on blowflies and flystrike is available from the FlyBoss website. To save you time here are a couple of specific links to help you choose the most suitable chemical and application method for your situation.
4. AWI AGM
